Who Are the Friends?

Friends are people who care about libraries and who believe in what libraries represent

Friends provide support in many ways and are recognized by the Library and the community for their sustaining influence.

Friends are individuals who are interested in promoting the Kennebunk Free Library by improving library services, resources, and the library's role in the community.

What Do Friends Do?

Friends of the KFL:
  • stimulate public support for the use of the Library;
  • underwrite special library programs for children and adults;
  • assist in maintaining, improving, and enlarging Library resources and services;
  • raise funds to support programs and grant gifts to the Library; and
  • conduct three annual book/bake sales and promote the ongoing book sale as fund raisers for KFL.

Friends Meetings

The Friends' regular meetings scheduled for 2011 are: February 9, April 19, September 20, an November 15, all at 11:30 AM in Hank's Room. Please join us.Pizza will be served.
 
Book and Bake Sales

One book and bake sale remaining in 2010 is on December 4, Book sales scheduled for 2011 are: May 7, July 9, and December 3. Occasional 50¢ book sales are held throughout the year. All book and bake sales are on Saturdays and run from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM.

Membership

The Friends of the Kennebunk Free Library welcomes new members. Membership dues go toward a variety of projects that promote and support the library and its services. We encourage members to actively participate in all our activities.

There are three levels of membership:

  Individual $5.00
  Family $10.00
  Supporting $25.00 (or more)
